Introduction

This course program explains drilling technical terms including well control procedures and technique. The purpose of the core curriculum is to identify a body of knowledge and a set of job skills, which can be used to provide well control skills for drilling operations.

Scope & Benefits

Upon completion of a introductory well control course based on curriculum guidelines, the student will able to understand job skills, identify well bore problems ,causes of kicks, well killing methods and function of well control equipments. Moreover; moving of drilling rigs and equipment from site to site & set up in the new site. Rig mechanics Oil rig mechanics performs routine preventive maintenance and ensure that machines and equipment continue to run smoothly. The rig mechanic obtains supplies and repair parts from distributors or storerooms. Following a checklist, a rig mechanic may inspect drives, motors and hydraulic systems, check fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions. The rig mechanic keeps records of his work. Scope In beginning the salary of rig mechanics is 25,000 to 75,000 but in other countries his salary is 1500 US $ to 5000 US $ and duty in Pakistan 28 days on and 28 off and in other countries 28 days on and 28 days off (In Pakistan and other countries all expenses which is air ticketing, accommodation, food and medical expenses etc. providing by that company) • Geologists and Geophysicists who undertake survey and interpretation work and assess the prospects for the production of oil or gas in new areas (Geologists also work as Mud Loggers, see above). • Reservoir engineers who estimate field reserves of oil and gas using mathematical models and computer programmes. • Drilling engineers who analyses drilling performance and factors affecting cost and efficiency. • Petroleum engineers who apply the principles of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering to the recovery and separation of hydrocarbons.
